Swami Vivekananda, originally named Narendranath Datta, was an Indian Hindu monk and philosopher. He was a prominent disciple of Ramakrishna and became known for his teachings on Vedanta and Yoga. His work played a significant role in presenting Indian spiritual traditions to audiences outside of India. Vivekananda contributed to increasing global awareness of Hinduism and promoted interfaith understanding. He is recognized for his efforts to establish Hinduism as a major world religion and for his influence on religious thought in both India and the West.
