Kim Jong Un is a North Korean political leader who holds the positions of general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs Commission. He became the third supreme leader of North Korea, following his father Kim Jong Il and his grandfather Kim Il Sung, who established the country. As a member of the Kim family, Kim Jong Un has maintained the family's leadership over North Korea. His roles place him at the center of the country's political and military decision-making.
